Mauser P.08 9mm Luger 1935 "G Date" All Matching
1935 "G Date" Mauser Luger, with all of its original matching numbered parts including the magazine (which is ultra rare).
The grips are even numbered as are all of the small parts all the way down to the firing pin.
Original bluing, nothing on this Luger has been messed with!
The holster stamped Karl Bocker 1936.
These 1935 "G Date" Lugers are rather interesting, having a deception factor attached to their story.
Instead of stamping the year of production on top of the chamber (which was typical for Lugers), Hitler used the letter "G", which was a secret code for 1935.
This was necessary as Hitler was secretly rearming Germany, breaking the rules laid out in The Treaty of Versailles signed at the end of WWI. The major sanctions imposed by the treaty included the disarmament of Germany, payment of massive reparations to the allies, and the demilitarization of the Rhineland.
Hitler greatly resented everything about the treaty and later in 1935 publicly announced that he had begun the rearmament of Germany - essentially giving a giant middle finger to the rest of the world.
Hitler knew that both France and Britain were militarily stronger than Germany, but he was convinced that they were unwilling to go to war and continued to break other aspects of the treaty. Finally in 1939, Hitler went one step too far in his invasion of Poland, sparking the start of the Second World War.
