The Austrian sculptor Maximilian or Max Krejca studied with Edmund Ritter von Hellmer at the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts. A great number of sculptures by Krejca in Viennese public spaces have come down to us, especially from the 1920s, which can still be found today, especially in municipal buildings and municipal kindergartens. Krejca had a decisive artistic influence on “Red Vienna”. The Johann Heinrich Pestalozzi monument in the Pestalozzi Hof in Vienna's 19th district also comes from his hand.
